The Issue

My name is Maggie Green and I'm reaching out to you with a personal and urgent plea to shut down Dead Broke Farm. When I was 13, with full excitement and anticipation for my first-ever horse riding experience, I visited Dead Broke Farm hoping for a joyful trail ride. Instead, I was met with a dreadful reality. They provided me with a half-blind and highly reactive horse. The situation turned dangerous quickly, as my horse attempted to attack another horse, putting me in a position where I could have been seriously injured or worse.

During our visit, my family and I were witnesses to the appalling treatment of animals at the farm, including the owner physically beating horses under the guise of training them. This disturbing behavior is not only a personal affront but represents ongoing systemic neglect and abuse. Moreover, the owner exhibits unacceptable behavior toward her staff, creating a toxic and unsafe environment for both animals and humans.

Dead Broke Farm should no longer be allowed to continue its operations. This facility has shown a clear pattern of animal neglect and abuse, and its actions pose a risk not only to the animals but to any unsuspecting visitors who are unaware of the dangers. Current animal welfare laws must be rigorously enforced to prevent further harm.

If my experience isn't enough to convince you of the farm's mistreatment, simply read some of the one-star reviews. Dead Broke Farm is responsible for many injuries and assaults.

We urge local authorities, including animal welfare organizations and the district attorney, to take immediate action by investigating these allegations and revoking any permits that allow Dead Broke Farm to operate. Furthermore, we stress the importance of stringent regulations that prevent any individuals or organizations with histories of animal abuse from obtaining and keeping animals in their care.

Our call to action is rooted firmly in the belief that all animals deserve to live free from cruelty and harm, and that no visitor should ever fear for their safety as a result of negligence. Together, with your support, we can push for crucial change and ensure that another family doesn't have to witness the heartache and danger we did.

Please sign this petition to lend your voice to this cause and help prevent further suffering by holding Dead Broke Farm accountable for its actions. Let’s work towards a future where animals are treated with the dignity and respect they so rightly deserve. Thank you for your support.
