I toured Country Acre Kennels on 12/22/22, a day that the temperature was about 14 degrees during my visit and would drop to 12 degrees for the
remainder of the night, until morning and stay freezing for 24-72
hours each night after. I witnessed dogs being boarded in
outdoor kennels and was told they would be out there all day and
night. I was astounded by this, as Texas law states it is a criminal
act to leave a pet out in freezing conditions. They did not seem to
have any issue with this. I called Animal Control, Police and
media, but apparently nothing is being done due to the owners
"connections". As an animal lover, I am livid about this and
demand something be done. Not to mention, all of their chain link kennels are rusted and pose a serious health threat to the pets. They also did not have any water in the kennels with the dogs and their response was (It's been a busy day).. It was 1pm. They have been open for over 50 years and need to be shut down NOW!!!
