The Issue

The tragic incident that claimed the life of my sister's beloved English Bulldog at Camp Canine has left an indelible mark on our lives. It is a pain that we believe could have been prevented had there been more stringent safety measures and better communication protocols in place. We share our story not just to seek justice for our loss, but to prevent other families from experiencing the same heartache.

According to several accounts, the daycare at Camp Canine lacked adequate supervision protocols that are critical for ensuring pet safety. On the day of the incident, the staff failed to notify my sister about the circumstances leading to her dog's drowning, which delayed a timely response and added to the distress. This lack of transparency highlights serious shortcomings in the facility’s responsibility towards communication and safety.

Camp Canine has a duty of care to all pets and families that it serves. We demand that local officials conduct a comprehensive investigation into the practices and procedures at Camp Canine. It is crucial to understand what led to this tragedy and to hold those responsible accountable.

Accountability ensures that changes are made to protect all pets who are entrusted to the care of facilities like Camp Canine.

Incidents involving beloved pets not only affect families on an emotional level but also raise concerns about the standards maintained by pet care facilities. Real and impactful change is necessary to safeguard our pets, who are cherished members of our families.

We urge the community and local officials to stand with us in calling for a closure of Camp Canine. Please sign to support this cause and help us make a difference.
