Save the Trees! Prevent the development of the Silver Harbour Lake Road Allowance

Hello neighbors and residents of Shuniah.
I am bringing to your attention the Silver Harbour lake road allowance and it’s proposed development.
This is a municipality owned property which currently is used as a launch and storage area for several Mary island seasonal residents, as well as parking for 2 vehicles per “slip”. During the winter months, local residents typically use this location as an access point to the lake for recreation.
Shuniah’s administration is currently preparing reports to Council which include suggestions of fencing, signage, land development and tree removal.
The immediate neighbors (on either side) and neighbors highly object to this proposal and any development of the lake access.
This does not only affect local residents but all of the tax payers in Shuniah. Your tax dollars are being spent on enhancing the aesthetic and function of the lake allowance for the exclusive use of a few people in the open water months (April- November).
We encourage you let council know that you object to the development of municipal land for exclusive and subject use.
Let Shuniah know that you don’t support the use of municipal funds for the development of this land by signing the petition.
Please note that I am not accepting financial support only your signature is required.
