Save the Circus Elephants in Mandya
This petition had 7,314 supporters
Five female elephants who were once performers at Jumbo circus have been kept chained and confined in an abandoned building in Mandya, Karnataka since June 2015.
On the 28th of October 2015, The Hindu, Bangalore Edition reported that the Elephants are weak and in pain, with their legs tied by a rope to a pillar. The conditions in the building are supposedly unhygienic and don't seem to be suitable for a majestic wild animal such as the Elephant.
These Elephants need to be rescued soon and sent to rehabilitation camps. I request your support in petitioning Hon'ble Minister Shri. Prakash Javadekar and well known animal activist and Hon'ble Minister Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi for immediate action and help for the Elephants.
