We on behalf of people of Asansol bring to your kind attention about the poor & danger condition of condition of Railway tunnel/subway connecting one part of Asansol Town with the other part Railpar Area is in a very bad shape for a long time. Asansol is an important Railway Divisional Head Quarters of Eastern Railway.

Asansol Railway Authority is aware of the problem. Recent years, Railway Authority has constructed & repair many R.O.B. etc  but this Railway tunnel of Asansol has been neglected.

People who are living in Railpar Area of Asansol are facing lots of problems due to disadvantage of transport facilities. Railpar Area is underdeveloped because this area is facing transport problem as the area has the single Railway tunnel. Passengers also suffer due to irregular bus services. As the Government Hospital is situated in the middle of the town, the poor/emergency patients also face problem to come to the hospital. The condition of the tunnel becomes worst during the Rainy season. Surrounding areas of tunnel during heavy rains is a major problem. There is no proper way to discharge heavy flooded rain of the area. Tunnel wall/position can be collapse anytime. There is very bad & danger condition of tunnel so any accident or loss of life can happen anytime.  The tragedy of a disaster waiting to happen.

Tunnel looks very scare & dark. There is huge inconvenience to commuters.

Railway Authority never takes any initiative for cleanliness drive of keeping the railway tunnel clean & the drainage system and clearance of logged water from the tunnel.

Railways Authority should come forward for construction of this Single Railway Tunnel & Road Over Bridges (ROBs) to avoid the problem which is a long standing demand of Asansol.

We request you, kindly look into the matter and take the initiative at earliest.

We would be grateful if you given special attention on our request and do needful immediately & make sure that tunnel is in good condition immediately to avoid all inconvenience to commuters.
