A police compliant has been lodged with you seeking your intervention by Mrs. Hansa Roy concerning the illegal removal of a sterilised and a vaccinated brindle coloured female dog ‘Khushi’ from the premises of Race Course Tower, Baroda.

The place has a history of engaging in animal cruelty. On the 27th of May, 2013, Rheo, a meek community dog, who was sleeping peacefully in the premises of Race Course Tower, Baroda, was brutally assaulted by Sanjay Kapoor (runs an eatery joint in Race Course Tower), Ramlal (runs Estate and stationary shop in Race Course Tower), Anil and Bharat that resulted in Rheo’s death due to brain hemorrhage. Consequently, Mrs. Hansa Roy had filed an FIR under section 154 Cr.P.C at the Gotri police station, Baroda dated 28-05-13. Initially there was no police action as the culprits were goons and had their contacts and ultimately because of tremendous public support that had poured in https://www.change.org/p/i-want-you-to-take-a-stern-action-against-the-culprits-who-murdered-rheo-a-community-dog#, newsclipping http://www.dailypioneer.com/columnists/oped/early-signs-of-a-violent-mindset.html and due to Mrs. Maneka Gandhi’s intervention that the culprits (Ramlal, Sanjay Kapoor, Bharat and Anil) were jailed under PCA Act, 1960, IPC 428 and 429. However, they were later released on bail. But, the case is still going on and a couple of summons have been avoided by the culprits. INFACT, ONE OF THE CULPRITS HAD RECENTLY TOLD MRS. ROY TO TAKE BACK THE RHEO CASE, WHICH SHE REFUSED.

Khushi, an innocent dog whose presence one would not even get to know about, was ruthlessly removed from her premises because the Rheo case was not taken back. The night watchman’s conflicting statements, the security supervisor’s (Yadav Security) misbehaviour and hatred towards dogs, shopkeepers being mortally afraid when being asked about Khushi and Sanjay Kapoor’s and his cronies sadistic face is a give away of what must have happened to Khushi.

Khushi is not with any of the two NGOs and neither did she die in the premises after having cross questioned the sweepers. Neither did Khushi ever leave the building in the last seven years, even for a single day, come what may! Khushi paid the price because justice for Rheo was being sought.

Sir, I request you to take a stern and an immediate action against the Security Supervisor, Yadav, Sanjay Kapoor and his cronies, the night guard, Umesh who all are hands in glove in Khushi’s removal and make them speak about Khushi’s whereabouts, so that she can be brought back, provided she was not killed by them. Otherwise as well, these culprits deserve to be punished by law for repeatedly engaging in animal cruelty. The culprits mission of eliminating stray dogs stands fulfilled as no dog is left in Race Course Tower premises now.
