Nicholas Price Marvin, convicted paedophile in Jersey, Channel Islands, was only sentenced to 5 years and 4 months in prison and he has the right to apply for parole. He will also be removed from the sex offender's register in 10 years’ time. This paedophile repeatedly sexually assaulted two children, the youngest was only 3 years of age. These victims will never be able to escape from the mental scars that this man's actions caused. Leniency such as this sends the wrong message to past and present sex offenders. It has destroyed the confidence of these victims, and may destroy the confidence of those who might be thinking of coming forward in the future. This petition is to support the request that the victims are making to the Attorney General to increase Nicholas Price Marvin's sentence so that it reflects the gravity of his crimes. This will indicate that you too believe that Nicholas Price Marvin's sentence of 5 years and 4 months was too lenient. A sentence of 7 years is not enough, but it is the original minimum sentence that the Jersey police requested from the Superior Number on the 13th June 2016. The victims want the sentence to be increased to this minimum as it will reflect the gravity of his crimes and set a new precedent for crimes of sexual abuse against children in Jersey.
