This uncontrolled shooting is removing, by destroying, birds and wildlife from our fields. It is a sickening, relentless blood sport. We are near to a bird sanctury along Faversham Creek toward the Swale. The fields and springs here are now virtually barren of wild animal life. It does not help the land, nor the farmers unless they receive some pay for allowing people to shoot. Sometimes the people with the guns and dogs drive and park in the fields. The shooters often make a mess leaving litter and carcasses. It is a public nuisance to visitors to the Heritage Trail, walkers, pet dogs, and which could be dangerous. People are unable to walk along the trails enjoying nature for fear of dodging shots when these shooters are in action. They come at any time, early morning, or all day. Sometimes they shoot at night with lights and will shoot near to houses, possibly looking for foxes. Please stop allowing this sensless slaughter and destruction of wildlife and disallow blood sport shooting in our fields. Fields and the life they give need protection for a much richer future.
