Lives are at risk! Patient care is being seriously compromised. Patients should be the main priority. We, the residents of Caithness and Sutherland expect and deserve a better service than what is being currently proposed (according to the information available in the local press). One of our regional post codes may be KW but we are part of the Scottish/British mainland and our region has a large (if scattered) population - we are not a small island community and refuse to settle for less than an acceptable 24/7 emergency surgical service. If in the interim this can only be done by using Locum cover then this will have to be provided.
