I believe it's important for students who have a passion for the military and aspire to join to have an outlet to express their interest.

     There are so many benefits to having a JROTC program. First of all students who aspire to be in the military can really benefit off of having a JROTC program in their school. It's possible to earn scholarships to military academies. If you are in the JROTC for at least 2-3 years you can enlist in the military at a higher rank. You also learn basic military commands which could really help prepare you for basic training. Other than that JROTC can develop students leadership skills and teach them important life skills. It can increase students confidence and discipline. It can help students develop a better appreciation for are U.S. Armed Forces. This could be also be a way for students to meet life long friends. 

     Some background information on me and why I am so passionate about this. My name is Stephen Matej I am going into my Sophomore year of high School. I'm aspire to join the military after high school, and believe this would opportunity for me and all the other military fanatics at SASHS. I emailed Mrs. Luffy about a month ago about it and unfortunately never got a response. I hope this can get both her and the school boards attention.
