Emoji has become a widely used language in the smart phone era, so much so that emoji is supported by Gmail and a language pack comes preloaded on all iPhones. Despite the fact that there are more than 50 emoji symbols for food (including pizza, french fries, a hamburger, and fried shrimp), no emoji exists for a hot dog. Living in Chicago, a city that has always been synonymous with a great hot dog, I and many others can no longer accept this slight. This will make a difference for the hot dog eaters of the world, which is no small group.
