The Issue

Update: The applicant is requesting a delay on the hearing for the proposed Nutbush landfill until the March 14, 2019 meeting.  This should be the last delay.

Update: The applicant is requesting a delay on the hearing for the proposed Nutbush landfill until the February 14, 2019 meeting.

This goes before the Land Control Use Board on December 13 - PD 18-42: WELLS STATION: construction debris landfill on 85 acres east of Tant, west of I-40 and north of CSX RR.  Applications will be considered by the LUCB during its meeting Thursday, Dec. 13, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Memphis City Council Chambers.

There are homes that back up to this site and two schools in the area, Jackson Elementary and Well Station Elementary. Air quality concerns, excessive truck traffic, and dangerous methane will negatively affect the health, safety and property values of neighborhood residents and school children.

The Wolf River runs through this area and the landfill could have negative affects on the river and wildlife and our drinking water.

Please say no to this landfill by signing this petition.
