This is the letter that our family sent to the Scottish Government after Press Release a couple of days ago from them.

"We are hoping you have the sense to at least read this email in full, it's the least you can do after what you have done today and I won't be addressing you in any formal matter because you don't deserve it.

How could you release the findings of you investigation to employees of Marine Scotland and the media before consulting with DeeAnn and her union representative, Mr. Malcolm Clark, before you sent any release out? Since the investigation was completed months ago you could have had the common decency to speak to her and the union representative first. But decency is not in your vocabulary that's one thing that's for certain.

I understand that her union representative has asked to see the results of the investigation report and he has been told that he cannot see the findings and he has no right to view them. The 6 month investigation that should have taken 2 months was deliberately delayed to allow public and media attention to die down.

This entire investigation has sought no resolution to the decade of abuse suffered by DeeAnn, and HR and Senior Management seek to ensure that she does not have a future with the Scottish Government. It's just one massive cover up from an unethical and amoral government that can't concede to misdoings.

I saw all the documentation when I was in Scotland from the access to information and how can you just ignore the misdoings, I know why, because you are a bunch of bureaucratic fools who think of only yourselves and how you will look if you actually spoke the truth and conceded to wrong doings.

You continue to treat her like an outcast and you are all no different than the rest of the many people that work within Marine Scotland. Now I know why you were hesitant on releasing the outcome of her case because you were afraid of the backlash that will follow from the public when the media gets a hold of your despicable and untrue statements. I can't believe how shallow and conniving a group of individuals can be and you all should be ashamed of yourselves. But you are no different than the US and how Donald Trump is treating people from other countries. The government will never concede to any wrongdoings ever and what did we expect, nothing less than that.

I don't know how you all sleep at night but hear this now, if this ridiculous decision on your behalf brings our sister to suicide you won't have to worry about backlash and the public outcry because it will be your fault. Our family won't rest until you are all made accountable for what has happened today.

Now with DeeAnn so shocked and distressed over your outrageous results of the investigation we as a family can't even be there to console her but that is what you want, isn't it, for her not to be a problem anymore for you and hope that she does something tragic to herself.

The best thing that can happen out of this is for us to bring her home and leave her life of 25+ years behind her and hope that she doesn't commit suicide over this. You have made our family's life a living hell and you won't stop until the deed is done.

When you all go home to your families tonight you think about what you have done today to this woman. Her life has been and will forever be changed. And you have changed our simple normal lives to something of outrage which is not common for us as Canadians and Newfoundlanders in particular. We are a proud and caring lot of people and never thought that something of this nature can happen to someone from our little island off the coast of Eastern Canada.

You are all cowards.

I hope for all of your sake, she doesn't harm herself in any way because it will be on you, and think about that while you are home tonight with your families.

At the end of the day, she was a "human being" and deserved to be treated like one.
