Due to systemic failings and a coverup to protect Marine Scotland Compliance, HR and senior management have closed ranks and blocked the truth to the public and the First Minister. A recent staff survey identified members of the senior management making misogynistic comments about female members of staff. One senior member of staff said, "That was a waste of a promotion because now she is pregnant," and in another comment he said, "No sense in promoting her because she is pregnant." This same member of senior management is working closely with HR to ensure that he vets all communication and is made aware of any staff that may speak out. Members of Marine Scotland Compliance who have been bullied and are still afraid that the treatment will persist are afraid to speak out in fear of repercussion and losing their job. The male fishery officer who was found guilty during an internal investigation is now working in my sister's office while she is forced to stay at home. He was found guilty of throwing a fisted punch at a female fishery assistant's head. The male fishery officer who took part in restraining my sister and gagging her is still at work. The First Minister has not reached out to my sister to speak with her about this toxic work environment. However the investigator acting on behalf of the permanent secretary has managed to squeeze in an hour to speak to my sister about what has happened. What was suppose to be a confidential meeting with the investigator turned out to be a witch hunt and recent confidential information was leaked to HR to use as an aid to remove my sister from employment. There is no protection for staff at Marine Scotland Compliance to speak out unless it is a meeting with the First Minister herself without senior management present. The meeting is due to happen next week but the meeting should be taking place with the First Minister. Please sign the petition to make this happen.
