10/29/2019 - Humane Agents Investigation Report and Emails from the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office report there are no concerns for the pet rabbits welfare at Whispering Orchards Cafe and the animal cruelty complaints and case have been closed.

According to photos taken on dates from 9/1/19 – 11/19/19 at Whispering Orchards Café; pet rabbits exploited on display are fed an indigestible diet of hard corn and husks that causes life threatening intestinal blockages in rabbits and whole apples with toxic apple seeds. Toenails are overgrown, rabbits are in unsafe cages/bad flooring and no pellets or hay were seen, the feed bins are rusty (toxic).  The Lop rabbit on the bottom cage is being defecated and urinated on by the rabbit above and is a sitting target for predator attacks.  The white rabbits cage floor is full of feces and urine.

There are new serious concerns regarding the Lop rabbit’s current health condition being ignored.  More recent; photos show no improvement and worse conditions revealing the bottom cage holding a Lop rabbit is living in deplorable unsanitary conditions with piles of feces, urine and fur; corn is still being fed, empty feeders and little water was seen.  Two more complaints were sent in and one response from the Sheriff’s office stated the care and conditions of these animals is in compliance with the law.  A second complaint was not responded to.

WI Animal Laws and Ordinances are being broken without circumstance while the rabbits continue to be fed a unhealthy life threatening diet, neglect of overgrown toenails, living in unsanitary conditions and the housing is in need of repairs to prevent injury to the rabbits.

WI State Legislature Chapter 951, Crimes Against Animals

According to public photos on Yelp rabbits have been kept on exhibit display for several years while fed a life threatening diet of hard corn, rocks are permitted to be thrown in the rabbits cages by children and other animals are seen malnourished and uncared for.

According to public records request, there have been various complaints on Whispering Orchards over several years including dead sheep, a dead alpaca, not providing food to animals, loose dogs and a dog bite.
