20% or more reduction of tuition fees at Sheridan while classes are online

20% or more reduction of tuition fees at Sheridan while classes are online

The Issue

During the height of COVID-19 many colleges and universities are opting for an online/alternative plan for the 2020 fall semester. Sheridan is no exception, however they have left their students down in an exceptional way by only giving us a less than 5% reduction on our tuition to make up for what is sure to be a very difficult semester ahead.

We are demanding at least a 20% reduction of all programs tuitions at Sheridan for the following reasons:

  • Limited or null lab access (including the tech within them i.e high tech computers, cintiqs/drawing tablets, consoles and the physical space to work)
  • Removal of what differentiates a college from an online school, athletic centres, clubs, learning commons and more
  • No more tech rental (so those without a computer or tech needed for assignments are either out of luck or out of what little money they have left)
  • The closure of Cafeteria/school food bank

Most students pay upwards of 8-10 thousand dollars a year(and closer to 25-30 thousand a year for international), and while Sheridan constantly boasts of their amazing labs, in class/hands on approach, not even a fraction of that can be achieved online, which is why we demand a fraction of our tuitions back.
