Taking back Mother Town is a petition to remove any names, brands, and/or products using the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians historical sacred sites, names and language, and people. This petition will ask the EBCI council to take immediate action towards the '7 clans brewery' 'Nantahala Brewing Company' and any other establishment that uses culturally offensive Native American products. In keeping with being culturally sensitive, we respectfully ask that the Giduwa historical sacred sites, names, language, and people will remain protected under any future provisions. Along with the '7 clans brewery' and any other businesses that may have or in the future may have any culturally offensive branding must be changed. In taking back Mother Town we as EBCI will only associate Mother Town with healing and wellness. In signing this petition the goal will be to protect and honor all of The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians past, present, and future.  

Ultimately this is to change the name of '7 Clans Brewery' and their beer named 'Mother Town blonde ale' and 'Nantahala Brewing Company' and their beer named 'Spearfinger.' This is also include any offensive names used by the businesses ran on or near the Qualla Boundary.
