This incredible holiday marks a similarity to Shelter Island's property rights issue and the Town Board's attempts to crush your right to rent your home. Historically, July 4th marks America's freedom from an oppressive regime, a refusal to be misrepresented, a rejection of tyranny, and the courage to begin a brand new government with a remarkable new constitution (which provides rights for all citizens).
With that, have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend, and DO NOT REGISTER for this oppressive law. Prepare for November's elections and send Gym Colligan and Paul Shepherd PACKING! They have no business in government and don't care about the businesses on Shelter Island that sincerely struggle. The island requires tourism and visitors to survive!
