Do NOT Register for a License - this law is wrong. Your $150. fee pays to police your home, pay for spyware to search your listings on the web, and fund the town enforcer's salary. We have had many examples of pure harassment from the Buildings Department, Shelter Island Heights Association, and the STR Clerk. By law, no one can ask if your are renting, search your home, our harrass your tenants. Gym Colligan has turned beautiful Shelter Island into a police state - DO NOT TOLERATE THIS OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOR.
