Last night at the Shellharbour Council meeting, there was a unanimous vote to amend the Pesticide Notification Plan to increase the period of notification prior and after spraying of herbicides including glyphosate AND also to advise the community prior to upcoming spraying programs via social media! While chemicals will still be used , residents will hopefully have more meaningful information with which to make an informed choice about contact with the treated areas and whether they want to enter it. Deputy Mayor Cr. Kelly Marsh was particularly supportive and hopes to keep rallying to eliminate toxic chemicals in our area and surrounding areas! Let's hope she's successful!
