Dear supporters

It’s here!

Council elections postponed from last May, will be held on Thursday May 6th  2021.  A referendum on how our council is run, will also take place at the same time.

This referendum is your opportunity to VOTE FOR CHANGE folks!! Change to a fairer, more collaborative Committee system of governance, instead of the failed ‘strong leader’ model currently in place.

Other good news is that the evolution of the Street Tree Strategy continues and a working strategy was approved by SCC & released last month: https://bit.ly/31XR1G4

This is fantastic news and a tree strategy has been the singular vision of expert arborist & forester, David Long, since 2015.  David has been an anonymous strategist & advisor to the SORT campaign & has spent many hundreds of hours, tirelessly working on behalf of Sheffield’s precious natural resources. A Sheffield Hero!

Other not so good news is that we are still awaiting SCC’s report to the Local Government Ombudsman, detailing how it will prevent past failures from happening again.  This was in response to Alan Robshaw’s scathing complaint about SCC's lack of transparency & deceitful communications, which the LGO upheld.

STAG is evolving: https://bit.ly/39ThyIL

A word from Ruth Hubbard of #ItsOurCity: https://bit.ly/3d4DWB4

Hang on in there everybody.  And remember to VOTE CHANGE (second option on the ballot) on May 6th!
