Dear Supporters,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read the open letter to the scrutiny committee- it has been noticed and will help shape our city centre for us all to use. It’s important to remember all the people we don’t see in town, as well as those that we do.
Liverpool and Brighton have both removed space for walking and cycling, both councils will lose capital funding as a result. That means less money for their city centres and local population to be active and enjoy the benefits of clean air in town.
Sheffield is at a precarious point, millions and millions of pounds of further investment could be lost if the council do not vote to maintain Pinstone Street traffic free on 26th October
What else can you do? You can write directly to terry.fox@councillor.sheffield.gov.uk Douglas.johnson@councillor.sheffield.gov.uk transport@sheffield.gov.uk ahead of the meeting lobbying for Pinstone St to remain traffic free.
I am hoping to be able to present this petition to the committee on the 26th, so every single comment, every single signature will help. Keep sharing!
and of course you can keep walking and cycling around Sheffield to show your support in a very practical way!
thank you again,
Jo
