Make Darnall Roads Safe

Make Darnall Roads Safe

Darnall Roads Are Not Safe.
Following the recent death of an innocent bystander by what seems likely to be caused by reckless young drivers, we call on Sheffield City Council, South Yorkshire Police, Clive Betts MP, and all Darnall councillors to consider urgent measures to make Darnall roads safer.
Anyone who lives or works in Darnall will have noticed the sheer amount of reckless driving that goes on on Darnall roads on a daily basis. Just yesterday, in the space of one hour, I witnessed three incidences of speeding and dangerous driving. None of these will have been prevented due to the lack of speed bumps and CCTV on these stretches of roads.
The following issues need to be addressed:
1. The lack of speed bumps, CCTV, and other traffic calming measures around schools, nurseries, and other public areas.
2. The lack of speed bumps and CCTV on almost half of Staniforth Road (including a primary school and children's nursery) and Darnall Road/Main Road where chronic speeding is a longstanding problem.
3. The need to install speedbumps and CCTV on ALL Darnall main roads and smaller roads which are identified as problematic.
We ask all those concerned to consider this problem seriously and urgently before another innocent life is lost.
