Between now and the start of school, I have seen many students complain and post about how many assignments are being assigned daily. We all understand that it is necessary, but some teachers are pushing the workload. Usually, I have 1-4 assignments per class and it builds up fast. Students who use to get A’s and B’s are having D’s and F’s. Part of this could be laziness, but we know that teachers would never assign this much work if it were in person. If we were in person, we would have the same amount of class time. Just because we are at home, it doesn’t mean we are going to dedicate more “out of school” time to work. The amount of pressure students are under at this time is already too much for people our age, but on top of school, kids have jobs and extracurriculars that they could be dependent on for scholarships. We shouldn’t have to prioritize school over sleep/rest time or work and extracurriculars.
