We have an important update. The developer has asked to have this project tabled until the December 14th Shawnee City Council Meeting. It is extremely important that you continue to encourage your Shawnee neighbors to sign this petition. Our goal is to prevent any apartments from coming into this area and to encourage the City Council and the City Planning Commission to consider maintenance free 55 and over villas or similar type single dwelling housing. There are currently 1,231 apartment units in a 3 mile radius of this proposed project. Your support has been tremendous but our fight is not over. If you are able, please email or phone the council members in your Ward, as the developers are most assuredly planning to provide more information to bolster their plans. I know it is close to the holidays but we still need as many people as possible to plan to attend the December 14th City Council Meeting. I will post updates as we receive them.
