Several central Vermont Shaw's stores recently asked that food donation boxes be removed, citing a change in policy about donations to nonprofits. These donation boxes accounted for about 7,000 pounds of nonperishable food items annually that are collected by local food pantries and distributed to families in need. The boxes do not obstruct customer traffic and serve an extremely important community service.

Shaw's, please reconsider your policy and allow the food pantries to return the boxes!
