Friday 15.12.17 Dear Chris, please can you acknowledge receipt of this email. 1 Representation At the Council meeting on Wednesday 13 December 2017, I asked this question (submitted on 13 November): Does the Leader of the Council agree that online communications with members of the public about what resources have been specifically allocated to help victims and survivors of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) have been dire and will he ensure that all relevant information is published online, say within two weeks? In your response to my question you said: “I am sort of conscious that that doesn’t specifically include financial resources allocated by the Council. I don’t know if that was your intention in asking the question. If there are specific details that you think we should add to that, then I am happy to take a representation on that.” I replied with this: “I put this question in because of the statement that you made in public some weeks ago about the bid and the failure of the bid. For people like me that are very actively campaigning and have been campaigning for three years plus, it’s very important that we … have the information that we need to help you get more resources. Please can I also have a copy of the bid referred to in the BBC article – and please can this not be regarded as a Freedom of Information Request but as a follow-up to your statement. 2 Supplementary Question My supplementary question was: Will you please ask Ian Thomas, the director of Children’s Services to write a report showing how he has utilised the thousands of people and the time that they offered to him in his first few weeks in Rotherham? It was my first time to ask questions in this manner in a RMBC meeting and I found the process interesting and valuable. I think, perhaps in the immediateness of the moment, you misunderstood this question. I was not asking for any information about any individuals but for a report from Ian Thomas about “how he has utilised the thousands of people and the time that they offered to him in his first few weeks in Rotherham?
