Save Yeadon from Local Insurrection
The Issue
We the signed residents of Yeadon Borough would like to demand the following Councilors of Yeadon Borough (Sharon Council Harris, Edna Learin Johnson, Tomeka ‘Taliah’ Jones Waters, Carlette Brooks) to resign effective immediately due to their unethical, and discriminatory behavior. Below are the reasons we are demanding (the resignation of the following Councilors)
Councilor Sharon Council Harris , Chair
- Voted to fire Chief Anthony Paparo without due process due to his race/ethnicity
- Still has not acknowledged and denounced the threats of violence against her fellow elected officials and intimidation against residents by her son Jonathan Wilson Jr. for attempting to engage in the civic process
- Continually upends the democratic process
- Led the charge to fire former solicitor Sean Kilkenny and his firm after just days on the job to replace him with another lawyer Mark P. Much, who has less experience as a Borough solicitor, without even providing a proposal to the entire council.
- Facilitated the hiring of professional service firms and the Borough manager without the appropriate HR practices
- Prevented Councilors Roadcloud and Monroe from obtaining information they are entitled to, as Councilors and requiring them to file Right to Know Request for documents they should not have to legally
- Stayed two nights at a Swarthmore hotel for Incoming Councilor Bootcamp training, although just 20 minutes away which taxpayers financed
- Went to lunch with Borough Manager Isaac Dotson and Councilor Jones Waters, for a “business meeting” on January 17 although the Borough was closed, due to a holiday, and was financed by the taxpayers as well
Councilor Edna Learin Johnson, Vice Chair
- Repeatedly said Yeadon needed a Black Police Chief since it is a majority Black community
- Voted to fire Chief Anthony Paparo without due process due to his race/ethnicity
- Offered the Chief’s job to at least one of his Black subordinates, even skipping the next officer in line in terms of seniority who also is Caucasian

Councilor Tomeka ‘Taliah’ Jones Waters, Pro Tem
- Repeatedly said Yeadon needed a Black Police Chief since it is a majority Black community, and said she would outreach to a former Black candidate for Chief to see if he would reapply now for the position

Councilor Carlette Brooks , Chair of Code Enforcement
- Put intimidating post on Facebook to silence residents who are supporters of Chief Paparo
- Has publicly wavered with her vote to support Chief Paparo even though the overwhelming outcry is for him to stay by her constituents, even though she ultimately should be recusing herself from the vote
