Most places now utilize social media or the Internet to network lost and found pets. Regina Humane Society is doing this and the chances or reuniting pets with owner increased dramatically. The photos are shareable, vaquely written descriptions of pets to locate owners or pets do not work. The written descriptions force owners to repeatedly drive to attend the SPCA. Many individuals can not get out to the SPCA, everyday or repeatedly to see if the " 5 yr old, male, tabby cat " description listed is their pet. Pet identification can be extremely difficult at times even with photos. Many pets may be unclaimed by owners as a result of the SPCA'S policy of only written descriptions being posted. The Saskatoon SPCA should be making every attempt to reunite pets within reason. The current policy is not effective and making it difficult for many owners to know if their pet has been found.
