The large scale lingerie company has been featuring the same type of models in their ads for a long time; unrealistically skinny, and mostly caucasian. Having a more diverse group of models could not only increase the company's consumer audience, but also help reduce the increasing number of body image issues caused by media perception of an ideal woman.

The majority of major Victoria's Secret "angels" all have BMI's far bellow the minimum healthy of 18.5.

Alessandro Ambrosio- 16.3

Doutzen Kroes- 17.9

Behati Prinsloo- 17.1

Though having a low BMI can be natural, it can also have negative affects such as bone loss, decreased immune functions, cardiac arrest, anemia, arthritis, and even death. These models may natutally be this small, but the average person is not. Having a mix of these "angels" and new models with healthy BMIs, more realistic body types, and diverse races would help show girls both young and old that it's okay to embrace who you are.
