In the series Keeper of the Lost Cities, by Shannon Messenger, Keefe Sencen has had a crush on Sophie Foster for a while. I'm starting a petition to have his confession go something like this!

Sophie and Keefe are next to Calla's tree, and its raining pretty hard. Sophie is yelling at Keefe about how he always has to protect her and jump into dangerous situations to be the hero. "Why do you always try to protect me?" Sophie argues. "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU SOPHIE! I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO IF I DIDN'T HAVE YOU!" Keefe bursts out, overcome with emotion. They both go silent, the rain drenching them both. "You... love me?" Sophie asks, bewildered. Keefe gives her a sad smile. "From the moment I met you." Sophie opens her mouth, a hundred things she wants to say, but nothing comes out. "I care about you Sophie. More than you'll ever know." Keefe gives her another smile, as he holds his home crystal up to the tiny beam of light that shines through the storm clouds. "Just know that I'm always here for you." Then Keefe disappears, leaving Sophie standing there, with the rain continuing to fall.
