This petition isn’t asking for a specific outcome but to voice concerns over President Smith’s destroying the beautiful Multicultural Center and LGBTQ center at Marshall University due to pressure from rising fascist dictator Donald Trump. They have been required to rename and redecorate to a whitewashed name that fits Trump’s extreme right nationalist, White supremacist vision of America and his war on “woke” and DEI. It’s an assault on our civil rights and first amendment rights.

President Brad Smith, we are extremely angry and disappointed. This is utterly unacceptable and does not represent our community’s or the university’s unique, diverse history and values. 

Shame on you. This action is hurtful and sets a dangerous precedent, a poor image of Marshall University and a disrespect for our students’ and community’s diversity.
