Dear Friends, Thank you so much for taking your time reading and supporting this cause. On behalf of Mrs. Bettie Grinnell and everyone in the Galileo community, I want to extend our deepest appreciation to all of you for your support at this challenging time for her. Great news! We hit 500+ signatures within 18 hours! Our next goal is 1000 and let’s make it happen! I want to reach out and encourage you to join us at the Board of Education Meeting on June 13. It will take place at 555 Franklin Street, San Francisco, CA 94102, at 6pm. We are hoping to rally up a large group of supporters from teachers, staff, students, parents, and alumni. We welcome you to speak along with others during Public Comment, but your simple attendance in person would suffice as support. If you do plan to join us, please arrive at around 5:30pm to fill up the seats and assemble the Galileo crowd! Here you will find another photo of Bettie standing and smiling in the Main Office. This is what truly portrays her - a friendly face in a hectic place, not a hater, nor a racist; but, simply, someone who cares. I want to also share a heartfelt comment from one of our recent graduate, Joyce Li, as she spoke to the problem that is beyond this problem: “There is a reason why Reimer was "boo'ed" at graduation. Trust me, as I looked at the audience, most graduates were silent and shocked. It was the audience making the noise. There is a reason why NUMEROUS teachers are choosing to leave for the next school year. There are many reasons why our school has not been the same since Reimer became the principal. I signed this petition because I urge everyone else to follow. We need to have Reimer's decisions investigated. We have all experienced the outcomes of his unfair acts, whether it comes to the budget of the school, to how he treats teachers. Reimer needs to start taking responsibility and realizing that a Tweet will not glue back together the damages that he has caused to our beloved Galileo. This petition to give back Ms. Grinnell her job is a major step into having Reimer investigated. Ms. Grinnell is really the "Heart of Galileo" and Reimer's reasons to justify her move do not make any sense at all (as stated above). If it's not broken, why fix it, right? It's time to give the students and teachers their voices back!” Thank you for all you have done for Bettie and please continue to spread the words! Keep up the fight! All the best, Yuyang
