Put high guard rails on Gracious Lane Bridge to save lives

A number of people have sadly taken their lives by jumping from Gracious Lane bridge over the A21 in Sevenoaks. There are Samaritans signs on the bridge but we need to do more to protect both the people who are considering jumping and those that are at risk when driving on the A21, not only from seeing someone jumping from the bridge but also the risk of serious injury.

By introducing high guard rails people will not be able to jump.

According to the Samaritans, In 2017 there were 6,213 suicides in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

We we need to protect these people that want to end their lives and offer them the support that they need.

“We can choose to stand together in the face of a society which may often feel like a lonely and disconnected place, and we can choose to make a difference by making lives more liveable for those who struggle to cope. We believe we can do this because we know that people and organisations are stronger together.” - The Samaritans
