The Issue

Julia is the first Muppet with Autism and as someone with Autism I wish I had a character like her growing up. She started as a character in a digital storybook about Autism for Sesame Workshop's See Amazing in All Children initiative. Julia became popular enough to become a physical Muppet on Sesame Street. However I think she should be one of the main Muppets and given the same treatment as Elmo, Abby Caddaby, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar, and Cookie Monster. She should be in a lot of Sesame Street merchandise, have games, her own page on the Sesame Street website,more screen time in the show and everything else the main Muppets do, all while showing her a positive Autistic character. We got her to become a Muppet now we can get her to be much more.
