In 1999 (just 20 years ago), Columbia Pictures (owned by Sony) released The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland in theaters.  It was directed by Gary Halvorson who also did TV Sitcoms including Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond.  And he also directed the 2007 ABC TV Special Elmo's Christmas Countdown.  Someone has just made a petition demanding that the movie should be re-released on DVD in honor of its 20th Anniversary.  And I agree on that.  That way, unlike on its first and only DVD release when it was in a cropped Pan-&-Scan version, the new DVD re-release should have it in its original theatrical Widescreen version.  For those of you out there who agree, please sign that particular petition, linked down below:
