The National Office for Child Safety (NOCS) has engaged the University of South Australia, Australian Centre for Child Protection (ACCP) to conduct a baseline analysis of specialist and community support services for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse. "The baseline analysis will:

  • develop minimum practice standards for services, agreed by Commonwealth, state and territory governments
  • identify Australian services that meet the agreed standards
  • find gaps in the service system
  • make recommendations for expanding or developing new support services including for the National Strategy’s priority groups
  • make recommendations on the feasibility of developing a nationally consistent minimum data collection for relevant support services.

In order for this project to be a success, engagement from as broad a range of stakeholders as possible will be critical. If you would like to register your interest in participating in the project consultations, please click here: Have your say on practice Standards needed for effective survivor-centred, trauma-informed services responding to child sexual abuse."

We will be participating in the consultations, which are open to anyone who would like to contribute to this work by the Federal Government.

We continue to follow up on the formal request for us to meet with the Victorian Minister of Health, after the tabling of our petition last month.

We remain LOUD, thanks to our 12,817 Petitioners standing with us!

Thank you.
