Yesterday, after numerous emails and phone calls over the past 5 months, we finally received an official response from the Office of the Minister for Health, regarding our request for a meeting, to discuss the outcomes our petition seeks. We have been advised that our request, which has also be made by Mr. Stuart Grimley MP on our behalf, has been referred to the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers, and for Child Protection and Family Services, Mr. Colin Brooks MP for consideration.

What we will do now

• Email and phone Minister Brooks office requesting a meeting, as a first step. Given what we're requesting does require the Minister for Health's involvement.
• Update our petition to also requiring a meeting with Minister Brooks.

Acknowledgement of our petition by the Office of the Minister for Health is step forward, after months and months of silence.

Every step forward is a step closer to achieving our goals, which we wouldn't have achieved without our Petitioners, now 12,817 strong.
