The LOUD fence movement is being championed in Bayside Melbourne by the Beaumaris and Surrounding Communities - CSA Survivors and Families group, and LOUD fence inc. On Sunday 1 May 2022 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM, St Kilda Football Club, Beaumaris Primary School, Beaumaris North Primary School, and Haileybury College - Castlefield in Brighton, are all supporting the tying of coloured ribbons on their fences. The local community, together with survivors, their family, and friends, will be creating LOUD fences to honour, support and remember survivors and victims of child sexual abuse.
Sharing Bayside community voices, "LOUD fences chip away at the silence and shame gracefully. LOUD fences end the silence that has created so much grief, torture, heartbreak and lost potential. LOUD fences speak of recovery, healing, moving forward. For the individuals directly impacted, and many more indirectly impacted. LOUD fences are a statement of intention to right wrongs with heart and with meaning."
"All generations, all individuals that have been affected by this historically protected and hidden horrific abuse of children, deserve the opportunity to heal from the trauma that society turned a blind and naïve eye towards."
We ask that the privacy of those attending and tying ribbons is respected, by not sharing any images of other people on social media, thank you.
We know that every ribbon has a voice, and photos of the LOUD fences can amplify those voices, whilst being respectful of the privacy of those who have tied them.
We are very grateful that St Kilda Football Club, Beaumaris Primary School, Beaumaris North Primary School, and Haileybury College - Castlefield in Brighton, are supporting LOUD fences.
We remain so humble and grateful for our community support too.
