Harsher Penalties For Drug Dealers Selling Fentanyl Laced Drugs

The Issue

Octet 31st, 2019 my daughter was murdered. The weapon was fentanyl. My daughters murderer had been convicted of drug related crime 6 times prior to killing my daughter. He was on parole and on the run from the police at the time. He spent 2 nights and 1 and a half day’s with my daughter’s body. He moved my daughters body twice. He drover her car, cleaned the crime scene, then staged to the scene in an attempt to make it appear that my daughter died in her sleep. If he had still been in jail for previous convictions, my daughter would still be alive. During trial and sentencing, I realized how much time and money goes into these cases. My daughter’s murderer was sentenced to 12 year’s. (Of which will serve maybe 8) If convicted of the same crime in the state next to our’s, the maximum sentence would be 40 year’s. This same state he was from. He was back to selling the same poison that killed my daughter, just weeks after her death.
We need change for the victim’s and their families.   Daily the number’s increase of new victims’s of fentanyl overdoses. Fentanyl is being cut into other drugs and poisoning our children, brother’s, sister’s, mother’s, father’s…our loved one’s live’s had value and purpose.

Often,  if arrested the dealer’s are given probation or minimal sentences. They are turned back on the streets to continue selling poison, potentially adding new victims. Yet, the families are given a life sentence of grieving.
Fentanyl poisoning has become a new epidemic. We CAN NOT sit back and be quiet! We need to be heard. We can’t keep allowing people to be poisoned to death. Please help me in my fight! We need to have appropriate sentencing for these crimes. Let’s get these people off the streets. Maybe harsher penalties would send a message to these drug dealers coming to Minnesota.
