NJ Senate Bill 3385 and Assembly Bill 5497 seeks to establish an animal abuser registry to help improve animal welfare by preventing animal adoptions by persons found to be guilty of an animal cruelty offense. This registry would be a big help to law enforcement, local animal shelters and animal rescue groups. Furthermore the bill prohibits anyone found guilty of an animal cruelty offense to become an animal control officer in NJ.
