Let's keep fighting to over turn O.C. Parks Ban on E-bikes. There is a meeting tomorrow with the "Trail Subcommittee Management Policy" at 7p, Sept. 24. The call in number is 415 655 0001. Access number is 133609047. If you wish to speak, send an email to Rory.Paster@OCParks.com. They allow a public input. There are two commission members on the subcommittee, John Koos and David Shawver. They sit directly on the OC Parks Commission. We plan on calling in and will update everyone on what took place. Call in if you wish to participate.

The next OC Parks meeting is Oct. 1. I will be at work and therefore can not call in.
I would recommend that someone put themselves on the speaker list. We have been meeting with them since last year, even providing them with a several thousand petition signature. There was a letter sent from O C Parks to Fish and Wildlife, the federal agency that oversees (or that OC Parks looks to for guidance regarding) the environment easement that OC Parks signed with the Tejon Ranch agency. We were told that it would take 3 months to get a reply. One board member even said he would pick up the phone and call them, to speed up the process.
I called in and asked in June what the update was. I was told there would be no response at that meeting. We asked again, several months later and was told "we are working on it." Now 8 months later, nothing has moved forward. They have been given ample time to reply, but nothing.
Someone from our group should call in as a speaker and put their feet to the fire and hold them to the issue. We keep getting a run around. Now almost a year later after we first brought up the issue, there has been no action. I would try to pin them down to specific timelines/dates so they can't wiggle out. We have been more than patient. In regards to the discussion about the letter to Fish and Wildlife, I looked at the minutes of the February meeting. Despite the lengthy discussion about the letter, there is absolutely no mention of it in the minutes!
