At 60 having had two heart attacks, thanks to my E-bike I managed to keep up with the 20 something year old mountain bikers that invited me on a single track even with the first hour being miles of rock gardens. Unfortunately my ride was against the law as E-bikes are not allowed on US Forest Service bike trails. Stand up for your Right to Ride. If you have not done so already please join ElectricMountainBikeAssociation.org Let your voice be heard. It should not be against the law to ride an E-bike on a public bike trails. That is discrimination against the disabled and elderly who benefit the most from this new pedal assist technology to ride a bike again! Like me and my 82 year old riding buddy Stanley. Further CA AB1096 states that type 1 and 2 pedal assist E-bikes are not "motorized vehicles" and have access to bike trails and last time I looked I am still in California. Thank you for your support and happy holidays. It is important to note and to be very clear in case you are a park ranger looking to cite me for the crime of riding my pedal assist type 1 or 2 E-bike on a public bike trail, It wasn't me, it wasn't an E-bike, there was no battery in the backpack, there was no motor in the motor housing and it was not on a USFS bike trail. I made this whole store up and it was staged for the production of this post to make a point and I deny that I would ever break the law in an act of civil disobedience so I can simply ride my bike on a public bike trail. In further support the trail is mostly down hill and no pedal assist was need or used in the making of the production of this post. Don't forget to join electricmountainbikeassociation.org
