The class of 2020 is really taking a hit right now by having opportunities and experiences taken away from us. We deserve to graduate with our friends, and teachers who’ve made it all possible to get where we are today. We deserve to be able to physically walk proudly on stage to get recognized for the past 13 years of hard work and dedication. 

We’ve already lost a lot from these two months that were stolen. Seniors who play spring sports have been cut short right when things were just getting started. We no longer get to have a memory of having our last end of year banquet, a showcase, senior night, prom and a lot more. These are memories that won’t be able to be made, and there’s no making up for it.

So, the last thing we need is a virtual graduation. These last moments of our high school career is sadly gone already. We want our graduation to be a positive experience rather than a depressing one. To look back on this and say we had to have a virtual graduation, and our 13 years of dedication mailed to us, is not cool, or fun.

Let’s unite as a community, as schools, as friends and make a physical, personal, and memorable graduation happen. Out of all the stolen memories this is one that shouldn’t be taken away from us.

**This petition isn’t so we can have graduation on the original set date. We’re hoping to have it held later in the year when the pandemic subsides. That way everyone can be safe.**
