Tuesday evening (October 12th, 2021) local mail was delivered in the Senecaville region of Guernsey County, Ohio. The mail-man had just came to our home to deliver our shipped goods. Now being on a property with a little over 90 acres and properly trained dogs who listen to what they are told, you let them go outside without being chained or restrained in any way. Dogs or basically any animal that loves their owner and even new people would obviously run up to a car and bark knowing that there is a human being inside. Most people take precautions to be careful and respectful of their animals especially if you are a person who has delivered local mail for many many years and know which people in your say “region” have animals that may be loose. As well as living in this area most people who don’t live in town own lots of property and have farm land. So animals of all kind are normal to see out and about outside of a residence. This local mailman, Dave ____, had pulled the extra extent down our driveway after delivering mail to tell us one of our dogs was on the side of the road. Not knowing we have cameras by where our mail is, he leaves unknowingly of the footage we had caught. 

       Now to the importance of this petition, we have footage clear that not only did the mailman lie about not knowing what happened, he hit our dog and left him lie there. But if you think maybe it was an accident and it was our fault, this man has delivered mail to us for a very long long time (years). We have always had dogs so he is well aware of them most likely coming up to his vehicle. Although none of our dogs are mean and bite other people, he was in no harm. Just a dog being a dog and barking at cars like any other dog would do. But this isn’t the first time. A few years ago at our relatives residence right over the hill, he kicked one of our past dogs in the face for no reason. Now maybe if the dog was putting him in harm the. something in the manor would be acceptable but in no way has he been in harm from our animals. 

       Please fellow dog lovers and just animal lovers, understand our hurt and loss. Change needs to happen and someone needs to be at fault. Animals aren’t toys and they aren’t arena fighters. Dogs are lovable, best friends, loyal, caring, and understanding of humans emotions. In no way will I ever accept what happened on that Tuesday Morning. (Name of man so far is just Dave but there is only one man who’s name is Dave that works with Senecaville Post Office)
