The massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is about to reach the Louisiana coast. The oil slick, caused by a deadly explosion at a BP offshore drilling rig last week, is threatening both fisheries and wildlife as it spreads towards land.
It is going to take a huge effort to clean up this devastating spill and we’re going to need a lot of volunteers. Starting with Sarah Palin.
Palin -- a major proponent of offshore drilling -- is famous for leading crowds in chants of “drill, baby, drill” and she ought to stand by her views and go to Louisiana to show that she thinks the spill isn’t that big a deal and that she’s happy to help clean it up.
She needs to see first hand the damage that expanded offshore oil drilling causes and take some responsibility for her enthusiastic support for more drilling.
Tell Sarah Palin it’s time to stand behind her words by going to Louisiana and cleaning up some of this oil herself.
So I ask that you personally go to Louisiana and help clean up the oil slicks that reach the shore. As one of the most outspoken supporters of offshore drilling I think it is important that you stand by your views and go to Louisiana to show that you think the spill isn’t that big a deal and that you’re happy to help clean it up.
I look forward to seeing you there!
