STOP Allowing Inmates Access To Pen Pal Sites
STOP Allowing Inmates Access To Pen Pal Sites
The Issue
Time for change. Inmates are scamming innocent citizens from behind prison walls everyday. They are operating a business, making tax free money by writing to unsuspecting family, friends and pen-pals who are placing money on an inmates books thinking they are helping them. Inmates can purchase a list of women for about $20.00 from a magazine which specifically targets prison inmates. Inmates therefore then have access a list of 100 unsuspecting women who want to write to inmates thinking they will help a poor inmate or change his life. An inmate can write and mail many letters during a months time. Prison officials do not have the means to screen every letter that exits and enters prisons. Pen-Pal sites are currently petitioning to allow the use of these services within prison walls. They are being cleverly marketed all over the internet and on television talk shows putting thousands of citizens at risk. The United States Government has an obligation to protect it's citizens. Inmates have all the time in the world to build on these connections with the outside world and they have nothing to do but think up new con's to play. They enjoy talking about their scams showing other inmates how clever and smart they are. When an inmate is released from prison their victims lose their cars, cash, credit cards, jewelry and the parolee is often gone too. Three States currently do NOT allow the use of Pen-Pal sites within prison walls. They are FLORIDA, INDIANA and MISSOURI. We are currently and actively petitioning the Senators /Governors and State Correctional Facilities to NOT allow any inmate utilize to these services and be subject to further actions and compensation to the victims they have scammed. These services which are accessible to citizens are indeed costing taxpayers, families and society's a great deal!
