Currently to get free child care I have to apply to Centrelink at least every 13 weeks to get coverage. I work full time and am a single parent of 3 children due to the passing of my wife. Currently Centrelink has only approved 8 weeks care and only at 50 hours a week because DHS aren't working with us right now. My Job allows me to contribute to society more then being a stay at home dad. And also benefits my mental wellbeing. If I can't have kids in care I'll have to quit, be paid more money by government and loose my mental health as well which will put my kids into danger. I believe the federal government should allow single parents who work Full Time who are on mid to low income free child care to enable them to contribute to society as a whole. Senator Birmingham you have the power and the ability to make this decision. Rates of $11 an hour are certainly not the norm in child care
