The Senator's office has informed me that the Department of Human Services has assistance for families experiencing financial hardship as a consequence of aged care costs and that our family will, in all probably, be eligible. This is wonderful news for our family however I'm still concerned that there are many others adversely affected by this new policy but not severely enough to warrant financial assistance! If this Petition helps to publicise the flaws in the assessment process and results in a more 'case by case' assessment approach then this will be a victory for us all.
